With mining and underground engineering as its specialties, and the ‘full-time tutor system for undergraduates’ as its driving force, the college actively establishes an elite education system tailored for the energy industry, striving to cultivate high-quality talents who are well-rounded in ethics, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor, and possess a strong sense of social responsibility, innovative spirit, and practical abilities.

Currently, the college offers five undergraduate majors: Civil Engineering (4-year academic program), Engineering Mechanics (4-year academic program), Urban Underground Space Engineering (4-year academic program), Architecture (5-year academic program), and Intelligent Construction (4-year academic program). Among them, Civil Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, and Urban Underground Space Engineering are designated as national-level first-class undergraduate majors, while Architecture is a Beijing-level first-class undergraduate major. The college boasts two experimental teaching centers for Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics, as well as an architecture laboratory. Notably, the Experimental Teaching Center for Engineering Mechanics has been recognized as a Beijing Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center.
